Man, I still can't believe it's been almost a week since the book signing. I never thought I'd see Sammy in my own hometown! It was like winning the lottery. The last time I'd seen him perform was during the Van Halen OU812 tour. After that I was always stuck working or too broke for tickets. But from the Montrose days up till now I always listened to his music. It got me through my teens, my tour in the Navy and helped keep me sane while recovering from major spinal surgery. Whenever I plugged in it was like visiting with an old friend. No matter how long it's been since you saw each other it was like no time had passed. Just like that. And now I'm stoked to hear the Chickenfoot music. I can't wait to hear the new stuff this fall. Reading his book and tracking his charity work has made me want to contribute too. My daughter is studying the genocide in Darfur, and is going on a charity walk to end genocide this Sunday in Santa Rosa. I'm walking with her, both in suppoert of her and the work to try to end the genocide in Africa. Thanks for the inspiration Sammy, and all the great years of fantastic music. And thanks again for the hand slap during the book signing.
